Good Evening Friends!
I hope you are all doing well this week! I have been well and getting ready to go back to work soon! Today, I have a new blog post for you. So, yesterday the word, my people perish for lack of knowledge kept coming to me. I began to search it out and what I found out is what is happening today. So I would like to encourage and enlighten you on this topic so that you will not be so easily deceived. I hope you have a cup of coffee or tea with you. I had a caramel latte earlier today and it was so good! Without further ado, let's begin!
Okay, let's begin by breaking down this scripture. You will find this scripture in Hosea chapter 4 verse 6. First off it says, "My people" which means this is people that belong to the Lord. Next comes the word "Perish" which means die, fall, destroyed, etc. Lastly is "For lack of knowledge" meaning for not knowing. Friends, I am going to be completely transparent with you. We are living in a lost and dying world that is getting worse by the day if not moment. This is not the time to pretend like we do not know what is going on. Are we to dwell on all the bad? Absolutely not, but we need to pray ever more for this world according to God's word. Speaking of God's word, we need to seek His word for ourselves not to depend upon someone else to give it to us.
Now if you are attending a church that the leaders are preaching God's truth and not bending it this way or that way, watering it down, or sugar coating it. Yes, we are to assemble ourselves with other like believers who believe and practice the word of God, but friends, we must read it for ourselves. In Philippians 2:12, we are told by Paul to "seek out or work out our own salvation with fear and trembling." What does this mean? It means, we are read God's word for ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what God wants us to learn from His word. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, our guide and "He will guide us into all truth." John 16:13 Friends, if we do not read God's word for ourselves, we will be easily deceived. We are living in a time of great deception and remember the enemy is always looking to see who can devour. 1 Peter 5:8
If we are not reading and living out God's word and falling asleep in this world, we will be caught off guard and fall as prey to the enemy. You cannot defeat an enemy without the proper weapons and one those weapons is God's word. So, friends, please remember to study God's word and to not fall into spiritual slumber and the enemy find you asleep instead of sober and alert. Stay in God's word and prayer and the enemy will have a hard time trying to devour you because he knows not to come to those who ready and armed. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time!
