The Lord Is Your Shepherd

Good Evening Everyone!

I know I wrote a blog post earlier today, but the Lord has led me to write another one. This one has been on my heart for the past few weeks. We are going to dive into Psalm 23. This is one of my favorite passages of scripture, it's a passage that I hold close to my heart. It describes the relationship that we have with the Lord who is our Shepherd. I had an aha moment this afternoon while having my quiet time with the Lord. So, if you want to know more about what happened, keep reading to find out more!

It starts out saying, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." Now when I first started studying this passage of scripture, I was perplexed about the meaning of "I shall not want." I always thought it meant that we are to fear the Lord, but thank God for other translations of the Bible, I read, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing." This was total game changer for me because I realized that with God, there's nothing that I lack with Him. Stop and think about it for a moment, He is our provider, our healer, protector, defender, peace, joy, love, there are no limits with Him. He showed me that He is my Shepherd, and I am His sheep. The sheep always follows the shepherd. This is the relationship that we are to have with Him.

He is the One who takes care of us, tends to our every need, and loves us. We are to abide in Him and through our relationship with Him, we lack nothing. Everything comes from Him, our every need, we lack nothing. If we place and keep Him first in our lives, everything that we need will fall into place. This afternoon, the Lord showed me that there are no limits with Him. With man and earthly things, they are limited, but with God, everything becomes possible to those who believe. How does this happen? Through our relationship with Him, everything flows from Him. He wants us to come to Him and ask for the things that we need, but first we need Him. God works in mysterious ways, and He rewards those who meet with Him in secret. He will reward you when you choose to come and meet with Him every day.

So, friends, if you are lacking today, do yourself a favor and make the Lord your Shepherd. If you have Him, you lack nothing, absolutely nothing. He will take care of your every need according to His riches in glory. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time!
