Good Morning Friends!
I hope you have all been doing well! A lot of things have happened over the past couple of weeks. My computer was hacked and I had to get that repaired. Also I really felt the need to spend some time with God without distractions. Once I did that, I received some clarity on some things in my life. So with that being said, I am back with another blog post! This one is about Abraham's call on His life. A call to faith and obedience. Can you imagine being in your home land and all of a sudden you hear a voice to get out of your homeland and away from your family and follow the voice of a God you didn't know? Well if you think about it, that's what happened when you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior. So let's dive deeper into Abraham's life and find out what happens, but before we do, I hope you have your cup of coffee or tea in hand! Let's begin!
In Genesis Chapter 12 through 18, we see God forming a covenant with Abraham. He promised Him a new homeland, ancestors would come from his seed and that the Lord would bless him and all the generations that came from him. He also changed his name from Abram to Abraham which means a father of many nations. Think about it, you and I came from our father Abraham, but Abraham was put to a test. He had to believe in the promises that God made to him and he had to be obedient. So he had to believe and he had to leave everything behind including his religious beliefs that he had once known. Once he believed and kept believing in what God had promised him and was obedient and followed God, God blessed him. So God guided him and wherever God guided him, He provided for him and his family.
So I want us to notice something, all God wanted to do was to bless someone. He chose Abraham to take him to a land that he never knew and he gave him more than he could imagine. God not only wanted to bless someone, but He also wanted a family. A family that He could trust, guide, and provide our needs. We must do as Abraham, we must leave everything behind and follow Him to see where He will guide us to and see His provision. Friends, God wants to bless you, but He needs you to have faith and obey His word. He cannot bless us with His awesomeness unless we first believe in what His word says and obey it. God wants to provide His love, His joy, His peace, He wants to make us whole again, but will we believe and obey? Oh I pray that we will and that we will be a blessing to Him! I don't know about you, but when I look back at my life, all I see is God's mercy and grace in my life. He has been so good to me and He continues to be so good to me even when I fail Him.
Friends, continue to keep God first in your lives and trust and obey Him. He will not disappoint you, in fact, He may go above and beyond everything you could possibly ask or imagine. He wants to bless you, He wants to do impossible things in your life. Will you allow Him to do it? Will you dare to believe in the impossibilities? As He has said, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Mark 9:23 Keep believing and obeying Him, my friends! May the Lord pour out His richest blessings upon your life! May the Lord bless you and keep you, shalom! Until next time!
