Even When You Mess Up, God Still Loves You

 Hello Friends!

I hope you are all doing well and have had a great week! I had intended to write a different blog post this week, but the Lord led me to write this one. Friends, this post is straight from His heart and I pray that it encourages you and gives you peace. Friends, if you feel like you have fallen away from the Lord or you feel like you have sinned too much and there's no way God will take you back, He has good news for you today! He wants you to know that He still loves you and He wants you to return to Him today! You may be thinking,"How can this be or you don't understand, God doesn't want me anymore. Friends, let me tell you that is none other than satan himself feeding you those lies. I want to share a story from the Bible about the prodigal son, you may have heard this before and you may need a reminder of God's love today. So without further ado, let's begin!

In Luke chapter 15 verses 11 through 32, we begin with son who has inherited a great deal of money. He runs away from home and his family with no intention of returning home. He spends it on this and that and literally squanders it away. He was really living the life or so he thought. Soon his money runs out and he doesn't know what to do. He wandered around tired and hungry, out of ideas of what to do now. He had no place to go and he was alone. He came to a place where a man had a farm and he was feeding his pigs, he asked if he could eat with the pigs. Can you imagine eating with sloppy, dirty, skinky pigs? As he was eating with pigs, he realized that what he had done was foolish and wrong. He began contemplating in his mind about what he should do, where he should go? Finally, he knew what he had to do. He had to journey back home.

Thoughts began to run through his head. "What is my father going to think when he sees me?" "What if he turns me away?" He even thought about working for him as a servant. As he journeyed back home, he finally reached the path that led home. He wandered up the path and soon he could see his father's house. He began to feel nervous in his stomach as the memories of home began to flood his mind. What he didn't realize is that his father has been praying for his return home. His father saw him afar off and thought, "Is this my son?" "Has my son returned home?" His son approached him ready to tell him that he will just work as a servant, but to his surprise, his father embraced him. Tears of joy ran down both of their faces! He told his servants to go kill the fatted calf and bring the robe and ring, my son has returned home. They had a huge celebration!

I have paraphrased this story, but friends, God wants to celebrate your returning back to him. You see in this story, when the father saw that his son was walking up the path, there was joy within his heart because his son had finally returned home. The son thought that the grass was greener on the other side, but he soon found out it wasn't. He had finally realized that being at home with his father and people that loved him was best! God wants you to come home my friends and even if you have done horribly wrong, He will take you as you are and clean you up and celebrate your return home! He truly loves us my friends and having the love of the Father is more than enough! So today return to Him with your whole heart and let Him surprise you with His love. Let His joy fill your heart today as you come back to Him. He is waiting with His arms wide open! May God bless you and keep you friends! Shalom! Until next time!
