God Has A Plan and A Purpose For You

 Good Morning Friends!

I pray that you are all doing well, it has been a while since I have written a blog post. There has been some exciting changes in my life and I believe this is going to continue throughout this year. The blog post for today is about God having a plan and purpose for each of us. So many times, the enemy wants us to believe that we have no purpose in this life, but of course he is the father of all lies. So, today, we are going to listen to the heart of our Heavenly Father who wants us to know that we have a purpose in this life. Before we begin, I hope you have your cup of coffee or tea with you. I am drinking a hot caramel latte right now and it is delicious! Without further ado, let's begin!

Yesterday, I was reading and studying the book of Ecclesiastes. As I was reading it, my eyes began to open up about Solomon's life. Solomon was indeed a very rich man, he had everything the world had to offer yet He had a empty space in his heart. He had all kinds of women, silver, gold, camels, grand buildings, all the comforts of life. He had wisdom and understanding that was a gift from God. He had all these things yet he was unsatisfied. In this wonderful book of wisdom, he makes an incredible observation about life. Of course, if you have read this book, he is repeating over and over again about, "All is vanity." Now I looked up what the word vanity means and to be honest, I was a bit shocked to learn what it meant. It means pride also self-love, self-admiration, self-absorbtion, self-regard. Do you see how many times self is repeated?

Can I tell you something? This is how our world is right now and not only right now, but has been in the past generations, consummed with self. This is not the way we were created to live, we weren't created for ourselves. We were created by God for God. This is our purpose, to serve our Heavenly Father. I am reminded of Jesus' life, He did not serve Himself, He served His Father and others. You see it repeated over and over again throughout the scriptures of the gospels. Solomon at the end of the book of Ecclesiastes came to the conclusion of what the meaning of life is all and should be about. In chapter 12 verse 13 says, "Fear God and keep His mitzvot or His commandments, His ways."

Now how do we fear God? In the Hebraic language, the word fear is Yirah. What does Yirah mean, it means to reverance, respect, and worship the Lord. This brings me back to the Shema prayer, "Hear oh Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one. And as for you, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul,  and with all your strength." This is our purpose dear friends. We are to give ourselves to our Lord in heaven and He will give Himself to us. Our relationship with the Lord is key, how can we love Him if we aren't spending time with Him? In a lot of ways our relationship with Him is like marriage. The more we seek after Him and spend time with Him, our love begins to grow. We become more content in our relationship with Him.

This is why this world will never satisfy you and me, it's not supposed to, that empty space, that void in our hearts can only be filled by one Person and that is the Lord God of Israel. He wants you to know today that you are loved, you matter to Him, you do have purpose and He most definitely has a plan for your life. Don't make the mistake Solomon did by running after the things of this world, run to God  and allow Him to be your heart's desire. Let Him love you and cherish you because no one can love you and cherish you like the Lord can. I pray that you will be blessed by this post and that you will know the love and purpose that God has for you. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time.
