Simchat Torah

 Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all have had a good week this week! I have had a very restful week this past week. Today I woke up thinking about one of the upcoming feasts which is Simchat Torah. This means the celebration of the Torah or God's word. One of the things that I have been enjoying this past week is reading God's word more. It felt like rain falling onto a parched land. Also I have changed up my morning routine by adding in the Torah portion every week. What is the Torah portion? It is reading a portion of one of the five books of Moses, a portion out of the Old Testament prophets, and a portion our of the New Testament which all three go together. So, for example, I read the last Torah portion for the end of the year and that was the last chapter of Deuteronomy, the first chapter of Joshua, and Matthew chapter 17 verses 1-9. So on Tuesday of this week, we have the celebration of God's word.

Why is this important, because satan has always tried to get rid of God's word through the many years. For example, during the Holocaust, Hitler wanted the book of Esther burned. John on the Isle of Patmos had to secretly give the scrolls that he had written of the book of Revelation because evil men were trying to shut down the church and the word of God. Today you have what they call cancel culture, what is that you ask? Well, basically it means trying to cancel the Bible and it's beliefs. Yes, it's true, who would have thought in the United States, you would have such a thing, but you do. Why, because we have pushed God out of everything so, it has to be replaced with something such as the evil spirits of this world. This my friends is why the Bible is more important now than it ever has been.

God's word should be a treasure to our hearts and must be cherished. I believe there will come a day where we will be persecuted for our beliefs of God's word. In some ways, we are already experiencing this on the social media level. We must take our Bible study and prayer time seriously. God wants us to know Him and how can we know Him if we aren't studying His word. We must protect our time with the Lord as a divine appointment because it is. So, friends, let's not forget how important God's word is to our lives. It's what sustains us and keeps us. It's what helps us through our every trial in life, it's what helps us live the abundant life that Yeshua promised. Ask the Lord to develop a hunger and thirst for His word. Search through the Holy scriptures and be amazed at what the Lord will show you! May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time!
