Good Morning Friends!
I hope you are all doing well this week! I have been reading and studying God's word this week and it has been a delight unto my soul! This week is the feast of tabernacles or Sukkot. This is a celebration of God's provision in the wilderness for the children of Israel. We celebrate this beautiful feast for seven days and we eat the delicious veggies and fruits of the harvest! Stuffed bell peppers anyone? This is a time to be thankful and to rejoice in what the Lord has done for us. We are to also build a sukkah or tent to remind us that this life is temporary and that our heavenly home is eternal. The Lord brought something to my attention this morning about another sukkah that we are dwelling in that many may not realize. Before we dive in, I hope you have your favorite cup of coffee or tea with you. I am drinking pumpkin spice tea latte this morning because it's my favorite at this time of year! Let's begin!
So, as I was saying the Lord showed me that we dwell in another sukkah that I didn't realize until now. Our other sukkah is our bodies, they are temporary and when we leave this earth, our bodies return back to the ground again. I know, sounds kind of creepy right? It's so true because Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 3:20, "All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return." Yes friends, as harsh as it sounds, our bodies must return back to the ground again. As we get older, these bodies age with time no matter how well we try to preserve them with al the lotions and creams. Now before we begin to fret about our bodies slowing dying away, the Lord left us with a beautiful promise and that is that when we go on from this life, we will have a new body in heaven. You see in the garden of Eden, there was no sin in the garden at first, but when mankind sinned, that's when the fall began. God did not intend for life to be that way, but because of man's fall, they had to reap the consequences of disobedience.
Now that Yeshua, Jesus, came and died on the cross for you and I, we are forgiven and now we can have that eternal life now and when we get to our heavenly home. So, friends, what am I trying to say here? Don't focus too much on the outer part of you instead focus on the inner part of you. The inside, your spirit is what is eternal, lasting. When someone dies, their spirit is free to go to their destiny whether it be heaven or hell depending on their choices on this earth. The body returns back to the ground from whence it came. So, friends, we must focus on our relationship with our Lord and Savior because that will be the only thing we are taking with us when God calls us home whether be in death or rapture. Ecclesiastes 12:13, Solomon says, "Here is the final conclusion, fear God and obey His commands, for this is everyone's duty."
To fear God is to reverance Him, to respect Him as Lord and King. This goes hand and hand in our relationship with Him. Once we do this, we are to obey His commands, if we love someone, we try to please them and respect them, so it is with God. If we truly want to please Him and respect Him, we will do our best to try not to sin. If we do, we can always repent and ask Him to help us not to it again. "This is everyone's duty" this is our responsibility every day and every moment. If we try to live our lives according to God's will and His word, He will be well pleased. So, friends, remember we live in a temporary sukkah, our temporal bodies. Let us not become comsummed with our outer part that we forget our inner part that is most important. May God bless you and keep you. Chag Sukkot Sameach, Happy Feast of Tabernacles! Shalom, until next time!
