Good Morning Friends!
I know that women aren't supposed to weak, but a man is supposed to compliment a woman in a way that fills in those gaps that she cannot fill and vice versa with a woman. Women are to be nurturing, gentle, kind, caring, etc. Men are the ones who are a bit tougher than a female. Now am I downgrading women's abilities? Absolutely not, I come from a single parent household and my mom had to get a job and work. My mom was tough on us, but at the same time caring and gentle. Marriage is all about balance just like in the classroom that I am working in, there is to be balance. Everyone has their own role and their own tasks to do. If one starts slacking on their role or tasks, the other one has to start doing two jobs which makes the job really hard because everything is out of balance.
God created marriage and marriage is a beautiful thing, but there is to be a balance. This morning, the words a submissive wife was burning in my heart so I looked up the definition and here's what it means. It means humbly sharing your opinion with your husband, being his helper and does what she does out of love for her husband. I am reminded of a scripture in Colossians chpater 3 verse 17, "Whatever you do, do everything in the name of the Lord." Why do we worship and praise God? We should do it because we love Him. Why do we turn the other cheek? It's out of love for God. Why should we obey Him and His commands? It's because we love Him.
So it is with marriage, everything should be because we love our spouses. For the past three years, I have been praying that God would allow my future husband to be my best friend. I have always wanted my husband to be my friend, to be able to share everything with him and hold nothing back. I have always wanted someone that I could really enjoy a good laugh, talk about anything, and completely be myself. Now while I pray about what I want, I also pray that the Lord will help me to be the wife He desires and wants me to be according to God's word and will. Friends, I am patiently waiting on the one that God has for me and I cannot wait to share my testimony on how God orchestrated this connection. I know it's going to be a powerful testimony for His glory.
Friends, I hope you are encouraged and inspired to be what God has created you to be, He doesn't make mistakes, what He created in the beginning is still good. I don't care what society says, society and our culture is like the wind, it always blows in every direction, but God's word stands forever and it is true. The Lord God created marriage and created our roles in that marriage to be a balance. He is the One who holds the marriage together. Without Him the marriage will crumble, but with Him, the marriage will flourish and be balanced. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time!
