Do You Know Your Purpose?

Good Evening Friends!

I hope everyone is doing well! This is going to be a spontaneous post, but the Lord has led me to write it. Friends, do you ever wonder why you were put on this earth at a particular time in life? Do you ever wonder what is your purpose for being here on this earth? Do you find yourself searching for that longing that you feel deep within your heart? Well, in this blog post, we are going to find out our purpose. We are going to dig and find the answers to these questions. Before we begin, I hope you have your cup of coffee or tea with you. Let's start digging!

A few years ago, and here recently, I began asking these questions in prayer one morning. I was in a funk and was tired one day. I came home feeling defeated from all the stress and pressure from work. I thought to myself about why I am here, what is my purpose, and what am I supposed to be doing right now in this phase in my life. Really and truly, I needed to take those thoughts captive, but instead, I entertained them. I decided to take a shower and get cleaned up from work and just chill out for a bit. Once I did that, I began seeking the Lord about what my purpose is in this life. He began showing me that I am not on this earth for myself, but for others.

God placed me on this earth for such a time as this to reach out to others. Friends, our purpose is to glorify God on this earth and to tell the good news to everyone who has an ear to hear the gospel. God wants us to spread His good news to others. How many times a day do we see dreadful headlines or hear worrisome news stories on the tv every day? My guess would be too often. Friends, I have news for you that God has good news for us, and we have hope that He is there in the midst of our circumstances if we will only believe. Our purpose is to tell others about Jesus who can save them just as He saved us. He wants to give them eternal life just as He has given us eternal life. We have purpose as long as we have breath in our bodies. God wants to do a work in us and wants to work through us. He wants our hearts, hands, mouth, eyes, feet, every member of our body so that He may be glorified.

So, the next time you wonder to yourself if you have purpose in this life, tell yourself, yes you do! God has lots of things for us to do whether it be encouraging others, teaching or preaching the gospel, singing for Him, helping others, etc. God uses all of us for His kingdom and we are all called according to His purposes. He gets to decided what He wants us to do, we just have to be available so that He may use us for His glory. I pray that this word has encouraged you and blessed you. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time!
