Good Morning Friends!
I have a new blog post for you today and I hope you are all doing well! I have been wanting to write about the real meaning of Christmas for a few weeks now. Now if you are a believer in Christ, you already have an idea about what I am about to write this morning. For those of you that do not know, I pray that you will see the real meaning of Christmas. God sent His most precious gift to us that we might be saved from sin, destruction, and death. As we open up this mystery of the precious Gift that the Lord that has given unto us, I pray that our hearts would be open to receive the revelation that we need at this moment. Before we unwrap the Gift, I hope you have your favorite cup of coffee or tea with you! Let's begin unwrapping!
Okay friends, the story begins in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Mary and Joseph were engaged, but there was a problem, the angel had come to tell Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah Jesus or Yeshua. At first she couldn't believe it, but then she received the promise and said if it be Your will, Lord. Then the Holy Spirit came and planted God's seed within her womb. She began to see her stomach grow with the promise inside her. The long awaited promise that the Messiah would come to save the nation of Israel and the world! He did not come as many thought. What did they think, you ask? They thought He was coming as a mighty king coming to conquer. No my friends, He had to first come as a Savior to the world that whosoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life. He came as a tiny baby born from a virgin. His life is pure, holy, and unblemished. God coming down as flesh to live among the flesh, but heavenly minded.
As the promise grew and grew within her stomach, it wasn't long before she gave birth to the promise. The promise was fulfilled as the Lord watched over His Word. The Word became flesh! Oh are you seeing what I am seeing right now? Isn't this exciting, it should be! After all, this is God's promise becoming manifest! The promise came in such a turbulent time in history, the Romans had taken over the nation of Israel and they were taxing God's people to death. So yes, they were looking for the long awaited promise, Yeshua the Messiah. Now let me take it a step further, Yeshua, literally means salvation. Salvation means to save. Why salvation, because the nation was in desperate need of someone to save them from their sin and iniquity. Someone had to show "The Way." Jesus, Yeshua is the way, the only way and the truth and the life. God brought you a treasured gift and this treasured gift is special. How is it special, because it is the gift of life and truth to lead you to everlasting life.
Do you see? Where there is sin, there is death, but the Lord saw fit that you might receive life everlasting. How did He do that through a tiny baby. Throughout the Word of God, you will see time and time again that when God wanted to save a nation, He would send a messenger or this case a baby. Moses was a baby who brought the people of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt, but there couldn't have been a Moses without a Abraham. Abraham was handpicked by God to start a new nation and through Abraham came Isaac and through Isaac came Jacob and through Jacob came the twelve sons of Israel. The treasured gift came through this long lineage to save you and I that we might have everlasting life. What is everlasting life? It's having a relationship with our Lord and Savior, it means we are now in the family of God. We have been grafted through this tiny baby that whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal life and shall not die, but live forever with the Lord.
Friends, this is the most exciting and beautiful meaning of Christmas. The love of God came down for you and I in such a precious and sacred way! The treasured gift is for anyone who believes today! Will you dare to believe that God sent His treasured gift to you? Will you believe that He sent His love and truth to you? Friends, don't get caught up in all the presents this year, get caught up with The Presence this year. The Presence that is eternal and everlasting, that will never depart from us. Open your hearts to what He has for you today and let His Holy Spirit guide you into all truth because that's part of His job. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom, until next time! Merry Christmas!
