Hello Friends!
I hope everyone is doing well! I have a new blog post for you today and it's quite different, but needed. I opened my Bible the other morning and I was planning to read from the four gospels, but it had flipped open to Ezekiel. God was speaking to Ezekiel about punishing Jeruselem for idolatry. I was about to turn over to the four gospels when I heard the Lord's voice loud and clear. He said, "I want you to read the hard things." I thought, "What in the world are you talking about Lord?" He said, "I want you to read about the things that no one wants to talk about or preach about." So I began reading and studying about idolatry that morning. It led to what I am going to write about today because the Lord began to show me what has been going on for centuries up until now. So without further ado, let's begin to unfold this truth. I hope you have your cup of coffee or tea with you.
The Lord has been revealing to me the differences between the carnal Christian and the true believer in Jesus. In the past centuries, there has been an emphasis on a "feel good" gospel. A gospel that is so far from the true gospel. A gospel that is described in God's word as, "the itching ears" kind of gospel. This simply means that they will turn away from the truth to other things that feel good to them or they will believe lies even though they do not want to admit it. People want to take the cross, the blood, and sin out of God's word and just keep the blessings and the promises in His word. I am reminded of the stern warning that Jesus gave at the very end of the book of Revelation. He clearly said, "I warn everyone hearing the words of the prophecy in this book that if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues written in this book. And if anyone takes anything away from the words in the book of the prophecy, God will take away his share in the Tree of Life and the holy city, as described in this book."
My friends, this is a very stern warning and sad to say, we are very guilty of this sin. I have heard so many say to me that this isn't revelant or that is no longer in practice, etc. Friends, I am once again of the Lord is same yesterday, today, and forever, He changes not and that includes His word. The earth and the heavens will all pass away, but His word will remain forever. His word isn't going anywhere, He created the earth, the heavens and everything in them with His word. How dare we think that we have the authority to add to or take away from His word. We have tried to conform His word to our liking and, to what feels good to us. God's word says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." Proverbs 16:25 Friends, this feel good gospel seems right to man, but it will surely lead to death. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." John 14:6 If we are not receiving the whole truth and nothing but the truth then we are receiving a lie. Therefore we cannot be free and we are in bondage. "Whom the Son sets free is free indeed." John 8:36 The only way to be set free is to accept and receive the truth, God's entire word.
Eve was the first human being to believe a lie and because she believed it, she ate the fruit of the lie and reaped the consequences. God then centuries later supplied our need by sending His truth, Jesus to reverse the curse of that lie to set us free. We do not have the right nor the authority to change God's word. He has established His word and it shall never be removed. Friends, there is great danger when we start turning away from the truth and turning towards lies. Friends, do not be deceived, read God's word daily, learn from Him, He will lead you into all truth. Friends, I believe there is great altar call coming, a great repentence, a great revival and it's because God so loved this world that He has sent His Son to save us from destruction and death. God loves you friends and He wants you to know the truth and nothing but the truth. Let us take a stand for truth, for Jesus, for His saving grace. I pray that this enlightens you and encourages you to take God's word seriously. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Shalom! Until next time!
