Your Temple Is Sacred To God

 Good Morning Friends!

I hope everyone is doing well! I must say, I am excited to get to write another blog post! The Lord began revealing to me last night about how our temples (our bodies) are sacred. I remember Him telling me that my temple belongs to Him and He began showing me the gates to my temple. I know this is a very different blog post, but I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to write this because of it's importance. Now before we jump in, I want to mention that our temples are to be pure before the Lord and I am not talking about just sexually pure also spiritually, emotionally, mentally, etc. If you are curious to find out how we are to keep our temples pure before the Lord, keep reading to find out more. Before we begin, I hope you have your favorite cup of coffee or tea with you. I have mine and it's french vanilla today!

As I said, the Lord began showing me the gates of our temples and they are: the eyes, the ears, and the teeth in our mouths. Interesting isn't it? He began showing me the eyes and what we see and watch everyday goes into our minds. Some people have a photographic memory which means whatever they see, they do not forget. We have to be ever so careful about what we let through our eye gates because it will cause our minds to dwell upon it and eventually act upon it. Next one is our ear gates, what we hear goes into our minds. Oftentimes, I have to ask the Lord to cover my ears with the blood of Jesus or I ask Him to allow me to hear His voice more than the other voices around me. Think about it, we are around a lot of different voices throughout the day. It may be your family's, your coworkers, the people at the grocery store, the different places you go to throughout the week, the after school football or baseball games or practice, etc. Then you have the enemy's voice and God's voice. Oh and let's not forget when you get home and turn on the news, my goodness so many voices throughout the day. Friends, we once again have to be so careful about who or what we listen to, it's gets in our minds and sometimes it's not good. Whatever or whoever we listen to, it must line up with God's word otherwise, it should be no value to us.

And last, but certainly not least is the teeth in our mouths. If you stop and think about it, when we put our teeth together, they look like gates. nothing can get through them. So why do we have this gate because of our words that like to come out. When you try to talk with your teeth together, it's hard to understand, but if you open your teeth and speak, you speak clearly. God put teeth in our mouth as gates to stop words from coming out that should not be spoken. I remember my mother used to say, "if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all." She would also say, "Bite your tongue." Now I wouldn't literally bite my tongue because that would hurt, but she was saying stop and think about what you are fixing to say. I remember in school, we had the THINK posters hanging up in our classrooms and hallways and I remember looking at them thinking what does this really mean? Well now that I am older, I now know what those posters meant and I try everyday to apply what they mean for my life.

THINK is an acronym for think before you speak and this is how it goes. T is for is it truthful? H is for is it helpful? I is for is it important? N is for is it necessary? K is for is it kind? I don't know about you, but I love this acronym, it is very helpful to me and my goodness it is so true for our lives. I often believe that if we would try to do this, our lives would be a lot better off. So my friends to conclude this post, our temples are sacred and what we let in through our gates can either benefit us or defile and destroy us in the end. God cares about our wellbeing and it starts with what we let through our gates. I pray that you will ask the Lord to take inventory of what is in your temple today and whatever doesn't need to be there, He will remove it from you. I pray that this simple word has helped you and encouraged you today! May God bless you and keep you! Shalom! Until next time!
